I’m sorry I did not see this before now. Jerry and I worked in narcotics together.  Excellent detective. When doing a search warrant you wanted Jerry there, if they had drugs, Jerry would find them.

Libby and I are so sorry for your loss.  Jerry was a great friend and outstanding police officers.  Jerry is one of too many officers loss too soon and too young.

I met Jerry through a mutual friend, Rick, and just instantly became impressed with him.  There was no better friend.  Nobody with the combination of wisdom, kindness, trustworthiness, humor, and experience, somebody you were glad to call friend and respect as a person.  We had many similar experiences and Jerry was the person I knew I could always talk to honestly.  I had an on duty shooting and told Jerry I wanted to meet up with him but didn't say why.  He made himself available without question and he was the first person I talked to about it and still the only person I've really explored it with because I trusted him.  We'd talk about the bad and dark stuff and we'd talk abut the absurdity and humor you find in dealing with people at their best and worst.  I must have made him tell me the octopus story a half dozen times.  I have it memorized, right down to the cadence Jerry spoke in.  Any time I was going to take a trip, I called Jerry for information because he'd been everywhere at least once.

 I still reach for the phone thinking "Jerry will love this" at some oddity on the job or some little fact in a book and remember I can't talk to him in this life any longer.  It's a hard loss and nobody can replace him.

I miss you, Jerry, and I hope wherever you are it's another grand adventure for you.   I'm sorry I didn't get to buy you those oysters.

I am so sorry to hear this. Although we were never close I regret not getting to know him. I was proud of him as my half brother and an good man. Dad would have been sad to have this happen as am I.

I will always remember Jerry as an fellow officer who would never hesitate to help me whenever I asked and never once made me feel inferior or different because I was a female officer.
