

John Butler Bailey, Jr. 79 years of age died Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was born September 11, 1936 in New Albany, Indiana to the late John Butler Bailey, Sr. and Ollie Bertha (Vaughn) Bailey. John was the widower of Emma (Biven) Bailey, his wife of 35 years who died in November of 2009. He formerly owned and operated the old Wagner’s Bakery in New Albany for some 40 years until retiring in 1996. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in New Albany and was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Cindy Bowman; siblings, Albert Bailey, James Bailey, Juanita Groves, and Kotha Sharp.
Survivors include his daughters, Lynn D. Mayfield (Scott), Kimberly J. Bauerla (Greg), Theresa A. Shumate (Mark); grandchildren, Tyler, T.J., Kyle, Lindsay, Abby Rose, Emily, Nikki, Jeremy; great grandchildren, Grace, Liam, Monroe, Cayedence, Selah, Easton; siblings, Collene Cress (Bob), Martha Saettel, Linda Miller (Tim), Darlene Williams, Ronald Bailey (Suzette), Jack Bailey, Sharon Clubb; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana and after 10:00 am Tuesday at First Assembly of God, 2778 Charlestown Road, New Albany. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church with private burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
