Joseph A. Andres, 71, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at home. The son of the late Marcella “Sis” and Carl “Sep” Andres, Joe was born August 15, 1950 in New Albany, Indiana. Joe was a graduate of Indiana University Southeast and Purdue University and served in the Army National Guard from 1969~1975. Joe was a Senior Design Engineer and Vice President of Piping Layout Consultants in Louisville, Kentucky. He worked many years at Rohm and Haas as a piping layout engineer. He also worked for Independent Piping in Sellersburg, Indiana doing piping layout drawings and was an estimator. He was an honest man. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, an active member of Knights of Columbus Cardinal Ritter Council #1221 where he was an Honorary Life Member, member of Pipefitters Local 502, and the Forty and Eight Club. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Carl J. “Jerry” Andres; sister, Marcia Andres; brother-in-law, Rick Sullivan; and a nephew, Brian Young.
Joe is survived by his son, Jeremy Andres (Von) and grandson, Dylan Yates; siblings, Ginny Balmer, Judy Sullivan, Jackie Colin (Mike), Joyce Young (John), Marlin Andres (Vicki), Gina Cox (Mike), Shelly Cox (Tim), Connie Missi (Tim), Janet Regan (Dan), and sister-in-law, Ida Andres; nieces and nephews, Tony Balmer (Laura), Tammy Balmer Stuart, Tara Dearing (Brage), David Andres (Lisa), Duane Andres (Kiran), Dawn Andres (Joe), Dan Andres (Missy), Shawn Colin (Stephanie), Angie Kruer (Matt), Matthew Colin, Chris Colin, Jessica Usher (Ryan), Kevin Young, Justin Young, Houston Andres, Noah Andres, Travis Cox (Jennifer), Stephanie Clegg (Travis), Daniel Cox, Chelsea Dodson (Chad), Josh Missi (Merideth), Jason Missi (Rebekah), Jake Missi (GeeAnn), Grace Missi (Kyle), Scott Regan (Jennifer), and Brad Regan (Chau); and many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 12 pm ~ 8 pm Friday, January 28th at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, January 29th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Starlight, Indiana with burial following in the church cemetery.
