Joseph Leon Gilezan, 74, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018. Joe was born September 25, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Murphy Gilezan. He loved to hunt, fish, and golf. After retiring from Hillerich & Bradsby after 36 years of manufacturing Louisville Sluggers, Joe could often be found at flea markets and yard sales. Joe never met a stranger. He and his wife, Janet, attended Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Richert; son-in-law, Michael Virgilio Dicicco; and sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Yuman Hart.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Janet Fox Gilezan; daughters, June Virgilio and Joan Riddle (James); and grandson, Justin Prather.
Visitation will be 2 pm ~ 8 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11 am Friday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with private burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville, Kentucky.
