Larry Charles Bays Sr.

Larry Charles Bays, Sr. 80 years of age, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021 at his home in New Albany, IN. Larry was born March 8, 1941 in English, IN to the late Robert and Ruth (Blevins) Bays. He worked at Gibbs-Inman Printing Co. in Louisville and later retired from the Graceland Baptist Church print shop. Larry was an avid golfer, learning the game as a caddie in his younger years at the old New Albany Country Club and was a member and a Deacon at Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany. Along with his parents Larry was preceded in death by his brother John Bays. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Sondra (Tucker) Bays, children, Larry “Butch” Bays (Jane), Loren Bays (Michelle Amos), and Sharolyn Dickerson (Kevin), brother, Robert Bays, sister, Lorilla Heeke, grandchildren, Cassie Bays, Olivia Bays, Julia Bays, Elijah Bays, Lucas Bays, Isaac Bays, Max Schmidt, Jane Schmidt, Kelsey Dickerson, Payton Dickerson, and Kaden Dickerson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and after 9:00 am on Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. His Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday in the Kraft Funeral Service Chapel with private burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
