

Linda Sue Tucker Stein (12/11/1955) departed this world from the comfort of her home, surrounded by family and friends, on August 12th. She was enveloped in love and showered with appreciation for a lifetime of devotion to her family. Linda left a strong impression on all who met her as a particularly thoughtful, open, and accepting person. A lover of storms and nature, her passing was accompanied by lightning, thunder, and a gorgeous double rainbow that arced over her home at the time of death.
Linda was a gifted visual thinker, with a passionate eye for interior design and landscaping. She enjoyed food and travel, and most of all, her large loving family, whom she always put before herself. Linda shepherded her children through hardships and tragedies over the years, with unparalleled strength and compassion, despite her own struggles, she always prioritized the needs of others.
Linda attended Holy Family and Providence High Schools, Class of 1974. While raising her 4 children, she went on to study Landscape Architecture at University of Kentucky and graduated from Louisville Technical Institute’s School of Interior Design (with honors).
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Rose Marie Tucker, and brother, Steve Tucker.
Linda is survived by her four children: Melissa (Scott) Lawerence, Jessica (Dave) Rebmann, John Stein III, Benjamin (Julie) Jumisko-Stein. Siblings: Carol (Jack) Wibbels, Patty Duffy, Gary (Mary Ellen) Tucker, Tammy (Kevin) Simms, and Rick Tucker. Proud “Lindy” to Grandchildren: Mia Stein, Ava Stein, David (Nicole) Rebmann, Sophia Rebmann, Tobias Stein, and Isaac Rebmann. Linda is also survived by 25 nieces and nephews, her lifelong best friend, Claire Drury and ex-husband and friend, John Stein Jr. and the extended Stein family of New Albany.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Monday, August 18th at Kraft Funeral Home, 708 E. Spring Street in New Albany. Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, Tuesday, August 19th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 129 W. Daisy Lane, Father Jeremy Gries Officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery on Green Valley Road. Celebration of life luncheon to follow at OLPH Brewery, 300 Foundation Court in New Albany.
