Luther G. Henderson Jr.

Luther G. Henderson, Jr., 83 years of age, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at his residence with his family at his side. He was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana on December 6, 1934 to the late Luther G. and Beulah (Burke) Henderson Sr. He was a driver with the C.T. Hertz Trucking Company for 28 years. Luther was the widower of Jean Henderson and was a former longtime resident of Scott County, Indiana. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a mechanic who loved to fix anything with an engine. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean in 1995; great granddaughter, Jade Caplinger; and two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Melody (Hottle) Henderson; six children, Brenda Mayfield (Dennis), Edward Montgomery (Lois), Leroy Montgomery (Cathy), Terri Henderson-Thornton (Daryl), Keith Henderson (Amy), and Doug Henderson (Cece); seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; siblings, Charles Henderson (Cheryl), Norma Burrell (Jerry), Barbara Durham, David Henderson, James Henderson, Shirley Shingleton, Dovie Henderson, and Tammy Walker; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Rd. from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2018, and after 9:00 am Thursday, April 19, 2018. Funeral Service with Military Honors will be 12:00 pm Thursday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel. Private entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
