Marilyn Pat Banet

Marilyn Pat (Emily) Banet, born February 26, 1934, to the late Chester Carpenter and Lula (Emily) Carpenter died on January 4, 2026, at the age of 91. She was a member of the Saint Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church. Marilyn retired from New Albany Floyd County Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Joe" Banet; a son, Michael Banet; her four sisters; and her five brothers.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Rex (Veronica) Banet and Carl Banet; her daughters, JoAnn Banet and Brenda Banet; and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 East Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and at the funeral home on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

Her funeral mass will be at Saint Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Church, Floyds Knobs, Indiana, on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00 am.

Marilyn will be laid to rest at Saint Mary's of the Knobs Catholic Cemetery, Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
