

Born on February 20, 1941, in New Albany, Indiana, Marilyn was the daughter of James F. Lynch and Cleo Lone Lynch Tierney. She graduated from New Albany High School in 1959. On February 29, 1964, she married James M. Skinner, with whom she had two children: Kevin Skinner and Kimberly Ellnor. Marilyn was employed by Kentucky Lithographing and Lorillard Tobacco Companies.
Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Amber Ellnor (Gerald), Seth Hollabaugh (Morgan), Bryce Hollabaugh (Madison), and Weston Buckel (Shelby). She was a proud great-grandmother to Jack and Sawyer (Bryce), Bryar (Seth), and Grace and Luci (Weston), each of whom she adored. Marilyn was pivotal in nurturing her grandchildren, filling their lives with warmth, guidance, and unconditional love.
Marilyn was a member of the Advent Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana, where she found spiritual fulfillment and community. She had a deep affection for dogs, finding joy and companionship in their presence. Additionally, she loved tending to her home and garden, finding solace in caring for her yard. An excellent cook, she delighted her family with her meals, creating countless cherished memories around the dinner table. In her leisure time, Marilyn enjoyed watching television programs such as Frasier, Blue Bloods, and Dancing with the Stars, which brought her much joy and relaxation.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; Margaret Lockwood, Andrew James Lynch, Pearl Brown, Betty Windell, Alpha Herman, and her former husband, James M. Skinner. Marilyn is survived by her sister, Lula Heeke; her children, Kevin Skinner and Kimberly Ellnor; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the immense love she gave to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, visitation will resume at 10:00 AM, followed by a service to celebrate Marilyn’s life at 12:00 PM at the same location. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Tunnel Hill Cemetery in Georgetown, Indiana.
