Martha (Teives) Sands

Martha (Teives) Sands, 94, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021. The daughter of the late Charles and Otilda (Speth) Teives, Martha was born May 22, 1927 in New Albany, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Sands; son, Theodore Sands; and 8 siblings. Martha was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany.

Survivors include her children, Steve Sands (Debbie), Mark Sands (Lisa), Jeff Sands (Amy), and Jean Carpenter (Darrell); grandchildren, Heather Ternett, Chris Sands, Stephanie Miller (Devon), Melanie Hild (Josh), Andrew Sands (Danielle), Travis Sands (Malina), and Matt Sands (Sabrina); and great grandchildren, Maria, Abigail, Dakota, Lilly, Curtis, Allie, Peyton, Creighton, Kaden, Emilyn, and Everly.

Visitation will be from 9 am ~ 10:30 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, Indiana with private entombment following in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany.
