

MARY (HAMMER) HUBLAR, 93, died Monday, January 13, 2014. Mary was born December 9, 1920 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Herman and Estelle (Fenwick) Hammer. Mary was a 1938 graduate of New Albany High School, 1939 graduate of Bryant & Shelton Business College and worked as a paralegal during the war for John Cody. 9Mary was a former member of Holy Trinity and current member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She served on the Deanery Board of Providence High School, Holy Trinity’s Board of Education and was an officer of both Holy Trinity and St. Mary’s Altar Societies. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie T. Hublar; and sisters, Lucille “Sis” Schindler and Martha Hammer; and brothers, Herman “Bud”, Gene and Barney Hammer.
Survivors include children, Robert Hublar (Denise), Mary Pat Hoessle (William), Michael Hublar (Karen), Carol Hublar and
Nancy Hublar; grandchildren, Beth Bumpass (Quincy), Melissa Hublar, Eric Hublar, Allison Hublar and Amy Karch (Ken); and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. Her Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New Albany with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
