Raymond D. "Ray" Beets

Raymond D. “Ray” Beets 86 years of age died Friday December 5, 2014. Ray was born April 28, 1928 in New Albany, IN. to the late Walter and Lucille (Hale) Beets. He was an Electrician and a 55 year member of Electrical Workers Union Local #369 in Louisville, KY.

and Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a 33rd Degree Mason, 50 year member of DePauw Masonic Lodge in New Albany, the Murat Shrine in Indianapolis, the Tri County Shrine, and honorary member of the Hadi Shrine in Evansville, IN. Ray also was a member of the Moose Lodge in Sellersburg, IN., American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post #28 and Forty and Eight Post in New Albany, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harold Beets.

Survivors include wife of 62 years, Edna E. Wall Beets; two sons, Ed Beets and wife Teresa, Mike Beets and wife Katie; three grandchildren, Aundrea Hutchens(Jody), Jordan Beets(Lindsay) and Jacob Schuley; two great grandchildren, Bella and Breauna.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday December 8th, and after 9:00 am Tuesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday December 9th, at the Kraft Charlestown Rd. Chapel with Full Military Honors. Private burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Masonic Service 7:00 pm Monday evening.
