

Richard W. Barnett, 97, died Sunday at Signature Healthcare at Jefferson Place. Dick was a native of Louisville and in the 1944 class of DuPout Manual High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a graduate of the University of Louisville where he received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degree. Dick was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a retired Credit Manager for the Courier-Journal and Louisville Times, WHAS Radio-TV, and Standard Gravure Corporation where he worked 36 years. He later owned and operated Low Vision Aid Systems. Dick was a member of Beargrass Christian Church and a former trustee for the City of Richlawn. He was a past president of the Advertising Media Credit Executives International and a member of the Tarpon Cove Swim and Racquet Club in Naples, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marquerite Graham Barnett and Basil B. Barnett; his wife of 65 years, Winston Quarles Barnett; and his son, David C. Barnett.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Barnett; son, Bradley (Karen); sister, Madge Roberts and grandchildren, Chase and Kristin Barnett.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, at 1:00pm on June 18th, 2024 at Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Road, Louisville. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the church. A private family burial will be held at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Indiana.
