

Robert E. “Rob” Johnson, Jr., 57, died Saturday February 28, 2015 at University Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Rob was a well-known lead guitarist and instructor in the Louisville area and taught and influenced many musicians throughout his years of teaching at Far-Out Music. His band annually played the Barnstable Brown party as the house band for many years. Rob played and was a member of “From Paris”, “Chris Leigh and the Broken Hearts Band”, “Jake & Elwood and the Boys” Blues Brothers Tribute Band, and the “Hank Rose Project Band” just to name a few. Rob will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family, friends, and the entire musical community of the Greater Louisville area.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Johnson; son, Bobby Johnson and wife Katie Karn; daughter, Amy Lee Burnett; grandson, Tristen Burnett; parents, Robert E. and Minnie Sue (Hess) Johnson Sr.; sisters, Susie Miller and husband Jim, Cookie Austin and husband Mike.
A Memorial Reception will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday at the Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana with a Memorial Service and Life Celebration at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
