Scholastica "Lastie" Lange Carl

Scholastica (Lastie) Carl, 95 years of age died Saturday, December 21, 2019. She was born February 10, 1924 in Ferdinand, Indiana to the late Herman and Ida Lange. Lastie was the widow of Martin Carl who died in 1988 and was a master Quilter and Seamstress; a volunteer at Floyd Memorial Hospital; and a 70-year member of Our Lady of Perpetual Catholic Church. She loved sewing, quilting, gardening and was a lifetime devoted mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 7 siblings; John, Ernest, Richard, Alfred and Norman Lange, Hermina Hoppenjans, and Bernita Metz. Survivors include: Eight children, Robert L. Carl Sr., Agnes Hobson, Donna M. Candy, Theresa L. Cunningham, Rose Ann Just (Gerard), John M. Carl (Susan), Kathy S. Piroozi (Hamid), and Laura A. Smith (Chris); 12 granchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also one sibling Donald Hoppenjans along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Sunday, December 29, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany. Her Funeral Liturgy and Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 30, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
