Shirley graduated from New Albany High School and Indiana University Southeast. She proudly served as a member of the New Albany City Council and dedicated many years of her career to medical coding and billing at Norton Healthcare. A woman of faith, she was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in New Albany. She was also a proud member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she valued fellowship and service to her community.
Shirley is survived by her children, Donald (Debbie) Baird, Ronald (Robin) Baird, Tamala Baird and Tracy (Arvin) Roberts; sisters, Darlene M. Townsend (Nate) & Connie D. Rice; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Baird.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kraft Funeral Home, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 p.m.
