Vera Marie Barger

Vera Marie Barger, age 94, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. She was born October 22, 1928, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Frank and Ester Stucky. Vera was a retired shipping clerk and was a member of Clear Fork Wesleyan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Barger; a son, Ellis Barger Jr.; two grandchildren, Gerald Wayne Mustian and Courtney Michelle Barger; and four siblings, Calvin Stucky, Edna Humphrey, Jenny Schaffer and Helen Hancock. Vera is survived by a daughter, Joyce Luckett; four grandchildren, Sherry Barger, Lee (Tammy) Barger, Angelia Barger and Alden (Brenda) Thompson Jr.; three step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10-2 on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the funeral home with private burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
