Wanda Evelyn (Adkins) Jones

Wanda Adkins Jones, age 91, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the home of her loving daughter Teresa Strain in Radcliff, Kentucky. Wanda was born into a large and caring family on November 26, 1932, in Pilot Knob, Indiana. She was one of 12 children by father, Edward Adkins and mother, Hazel McDaniel Adkins. Wanda led a full and loving life. Being a military wife, she traveled to many parts of the world and throughout the United States. She always enjoyed the family trips with her children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews. Her gardening skills were admired by many. She will be most remembered for her passion for DANCING and music. In addition to parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Jones, and siblings, Opal Washburn, Mamie Bullington, Mable Esteves, Virgil Adkins, Lee Adkins, Russell Adkins, Everett Adkins, Shirley Adkins, Cathern Dillman Gilliand, Ferrell Ann Brown and Betty Dawson. Wanda is survived and much loved by her son, Steven Jones (wife, Brenda); her daughter, Teresa Strain (husband, Andy); grandchildren include, Lisa Brainer, Brad Harney and Denise Reidling (husband, Zach) and a great grandson, Brandon Crabtree. Wanda shared a special bond with her niece, Marilyn Sonne. She also had a caring and loving relationship with companion, Rick Cunningham. Visitation for Wanda will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd., New Albany, Indiana 47150, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. Rest in God's loving arms Wanda. We know you will dance through the gates of heaven!
