Bill was born on January 3, 1954, in Jeffersonville, IN, to the late Donald Keith Miller and Marianne Bruckert. He grew up in Jeffersonville, graduated from Indiana University, and went on to serve his country as a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division of the IRS. His work was important, but it was his role as a husband, dad, Papaw, and friend that defined his life most.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Charlotte (Tindall) Miller; his children Keith Miller (Michelle) and Dawn Burns (Chad); his grandchildren Engelica Culotta, Amber Price (Jeremy), William Miller, Keifer Miller, and Christopher Miller; and his great-grandchildren Adalynn Price and Jerex Price.
He also leaves behind his beloved bonus family: daughter Hilda Jahn (John), grandchildren Julia John, Alissa Burns, and Tacey Cox, and step mother Beverly Logsdon.
Bill’s siblings meant the world to him—he is survived by Kathy Self (Morris), Michael Miller (Cindi), Kelly Miller, Karen Denny (Gary), and Linda Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Miller, stepmother Zella Miller and stepfather Steve Logsdon.
A history buff through and through, Bill had a deep passion for Civil War history, coins, art, Zippo lighters, and pins. He was a proud collector who found joy in the stories behind every object. He played the trombone, loved bowling, and never passed up a good conversation about politics, history, or life in general.
Bill was known for always having a Coca-Cola in hand, his famous meatballs, and a box of Krispy Kreme donuts close by. He loved when his family brought him White Castles—especially since there wasn’t one near him. He was the go-to guy for vacation planning, tax help, and big life advice. More than anything, he was our leader—our monarch—who gave his whole heart to his family.
Bill was surrounded in life—and in his final days—by an incredible circle of friends, extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loved ones who were such an important part of his life. We are deeply grateful for each of you and the role you played in his journey.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye
Goodbye!
I’m glad to go, I cannot tell a lie
I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly
The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye!
