

Addison D. Rowley Jr., 80, of New Bedford, peacefully passed away on Friday September 6, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Addison D. Rowley Sr. and Vivian (Beasley) Rowley.
Addison was a graduate of Howard University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Addison worked at Polaroid for 25 years before choosing early retirement. Spending time with his family was very important, especially his daughter Sarah and his granddaughter Mckenzie, who was his pride and joy. He enjoyed many hobbies including collecting coins and magazines, Sudoku puzzles and painting all of his amazing paintings, and was an avid Patriots fan. Addison loved writing political essays and always enjoyed having a good time, he also loved the sounds of Motown and Doo Wop that was constantly playing in his house.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Sarah Almeida and her husband Marco of New Bedford; his granddaughter Mckenzie Almeida of New Bedford; former wife and mother of Sarah, Nancy (Dexter) Rowley; two brothers, Thomas Rowley and his wife Patricia of Michigan, and Jeffrey Rowley and his wife Lydia of Philadelphia; partner, Donna Hawkins of New Bedford; nephews, Cesar Rowley and his husband Ben of Austria, nephew and godson, Jeffrey Rowley Jr. And his fiancé Deja of Philadelphia, and Jonathan Rowley of Philadelphia. He was the uncle of the late Demetrius Rowley.
His Visitation will be held on Saturday September 14, 2024 from 11:00am-1:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 for family and friends to attend.
