

Alfred A. Alphonse, “Al” age 53, of Acushnet, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his residence surrounded by is family. He was the husband of Francine A. (Medeiros) Alphonse to whom he shared twenty-nine years of marriage with.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Antone R. Alphonse Jr., and Eva (Souza) Alphonse, he lived in Fairhaven for many years before moving to Acushnet fifteen years ago.
A graduate of Fairhaven High School, class of 1979, he worked at Titleist for twenty-eight years. Mr. Alphonse had a passion for art, cars, motorcycles, and politics. An avid collector of watches he enjoyed antiquing, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to is wife, he is survived by his daughter, Raquel Alphonse and his son, Nicholas Alphonse both of Acushnet, and eight siblings, Antone III, James, William, Charles, Michael, and Kurtis Alphonse, Sandra Rosparka and Rosemarie Mello, and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 9:00AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to M.O. Life, 43 Daniel St., Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven.
