

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche (Bussieres) Tetreault she lived most of her life in New Bedford. She was a communicant of the former St. Joseph-St. Therese Parish.
Mrs. Palardy worked in various factories in the area. Betty’s last job was working as a presser in the garment industry. She was a member of the Union Local No. 59 for textile workers. In her spare time, she enjoyed walking, going target shooting with her husband, fly fishing, playing cards, music, and dancing. She enjoyed walking to Brooklawn Park with her grandchildren and feeding the ducks.
In a 2018 New Bedford Standard Times interview, she stated having two beers a day was the key to her long life.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Palardy and his wife Diane of Marshfield and Albert Palardy of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Lt. Pamela Palardy, David Palardy, Richard Palardy and his wife Heather, and Dennis Palardy and his wife Maria; seven great grandchildren, Aislinn, Grant, Jack, Bobby, Hannah, Khloe, and Haleigh; several nieces and nephews including her special niece, Robbie MacLean. She was the sister of the late Therese “Terry” Melanson, Emile Tetreault, and Peter Tetreault.
Her visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2024 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel The Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.
