Alice S. Pinheiro

Alice S. (Carvalho) Pinheiro, age 95, of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose J. Pinheiro, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Salgueirais, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Jose Oliva and Maria Lourdes (Saraiva) Carvalho.

Alice worked at Cliftex Corp. for many years as a Stitcher. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, and spending time with her family was very important, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alice was a gentle woman with a kind soul, and loved everyone around her. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, Antonio Jose Pinheiro and his wife Rosa of Dartmouth, Antonio Jack Pinheiro of New Bedford, and Maria Lawrence and her husband Patrick of New Bedford; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Agostinho F. Pinheiro, and sister of the late Antonio Carvalho, Luis Carvalho, Manuel Carvalho, Ilda Carvalho, and Sr. Raquel Carvalho.

Her visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00PM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford, MA 02745. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 9:00AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St. New Bedford, MA.
