Amadeu Pacheco

Born in Achada Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Mario Pacheco and Maria (Barbosa) Pacheco, he came to the United States in 1978 and settled in New Bedford.

Mr. Pacheco had worked in the field of utility construction and was a very proud member of Local 22 out of Boston for over 30 years, until retiring due to illness.

His favorite sport was soccer and was a passionate fan of SL Benfica in Portugal. Amadeu enjoyed the company of his friends at Clube Recordacoes de Portugal. He loved being outside, listening to Portuguese music and his daily Dunkin coffee with his wife, Anabela. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Cassie Soares and husband Brian and Christopher Pacheco and wife Tania; his brothers, Valdomiro Pacheco and wife Fatima, Osvaldo “Ozzy” Pacheco and wife Magna and Fernando Pacheco; his grandchildren, Landon Soares, Savannah Soares and Adrianna Pacheco; one uncle, two aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 from 4-8 pm in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, 795 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth followed by burial in Rural Cemetery.
