Antonio “Tony” M. Ferreira, age 64, of New Bedford died Monday, March 12, 2012. Born St. Miguel, a son of the late Edmund Ferreira and Maria (Sousa) Ferreira of New Bedford, he was a life-long area resident.
He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and worked as a Machine Operator at Titleist in New Bedford for many years.
Besides his mother he is survived by one son, Christopher Ferreira; one daughter, Sandra Dias and her husband Steven; one sister, Maria Frietas; one brother, Edmund Ferreira; three grandchildren, Amber Ferreira, Landen and Sofia Dias, all of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews.
His visiting hours will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 5-7 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to, Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC 20005, would be appreciated.
