Barbara C. Adams

Barbara C. (Cabral) Adams, 87, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Philip Adams with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late William and Alice (Paradis) Cabral, she was a lifelong area resident.

A graduate of New Bedford High School, she worked at Continental Screw Company, the New Bedford Whaling Museum and volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Christina Graham of E. Harwich, Philip J. Adams and his wife Kathy of Acushnet, Leslie DiAngelo and her husband Anthony of Plymouth and Carl W. Adams and his wife Sabrina Van Houten of Boston; six grandchildren, Sheila Torres, Philip B. Adams, Thomas Graham, Isabella DiAngelo and Elias and Xavier Adams; and two great-grandchildren, Philip John Adams and Adrian Torres. She was the sister of the late William Cabral.

Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10:00AM from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle St., New Bedford. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday 4:00PM to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 473 S.
