Born in Somerville, NJ, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Esther (Saxton) DeStephano.
Mrs. Oliveira will be remembered as a wonderful wife, outstanding mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was always happy to encourage others. Barbara was very fond of all her pets. In her spare time, she enjoyed helping others and volunteering her time at the Westport Senior Center.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Oliveira of Dartmouth, Diane Destoop Fackler and Carol Barnard both of Jacksonville, FL, James Oliveira of Litchfield, ME and Joseph G. Oliveira of Dartmouth; two stepsons, Daniel Oliveira of Carver and Doug Oliveira of Fall River; a brother, James DeStephano of VA; eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and her cat, Princess.
