Born in New Bedford, where she lived most of her life. She was the loving daughter of the late Richard and Regina (Schwerdhoefer) Boucher.
Brenda was born with Cerebral Palsy and had severe disabilities; there were things she could not do like walk, talk, or being able to see. Brenda could not do many things that people take for granted. We did not see Brenda that way… To her family, she could smile, she could laugh, and she could be quite verbal in her own little way. She taught us all about acceptance, kindness and patience.
Brenda gave us all the Gift of Beauty. Her life was not easy, and it was not glamorous, there were a lot of challenging times for her family and staff, but she taught us that we can see past the difficulties and find the BEAUTY… for there is always BEAUTY! Keep sending us those Butterflies Brenda!
Brenda’s family would like to thank the staff at her Maple Street residence where she resided these last 30 years. Caring for someone like Brenda took a lot of love, patience and dedication for all of her daily needs…we are Thankful for every one of you. To the Mill Road Day Program Staff; for your time and dedication you spent with Brenda daily until Covid hit. We would also like to thank Hospice of New Bedford Nurses for the kind, caring and compassionate service that Brenda received for the past few months and for Chaplain Susan Connery for coming to Pray, Sing and visit with Brenda.
Brenda is survived by her sisters, Anne Frates, her husband Steve, Heidi Sirois and her husband Robert, her brother Richard and his wife Kyra of Charleston, South Carolina, a niece, three nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins and her godparents.
