

Carol Ann was the loving companion of John R. “Randy” Taylor of Fairhaven, MA.
Ms. Smith was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Violet (Languirand) Tablas and the late Henry Tablas. She resided in New Bedford.
She graduated with honors in 1967 from Holy Family High School. She then went on to work for Rodney Printing from 1967 until 1988 as a bookkeeper/office manager.
Her passion was writing, especially poetry. In 1988, her poem “Before I Go” was published in the Celebration of Poets Showcase Edition for the National Library of Poetry in Maryland and also the Diamonds and Pearls Edition.
She was also a dedicated fund raiser for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in New Bedford for 14 years raising substantial funds for the cause.
She would want to be remembered for her pride, strength and loving heart.
Survivors include: John R. “Randy” Taylor, the love of her life, her loving sister, Marcelle C. Lopes and her husband, Russell of New Bedford, her nephew and Godchild, Marc A. Lopes, an aunt and several cousins. She also leaves many cherished friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Care One especially the special nurses and aides for their loving care and compassion. Also, special thanks to Dr. Susan Kim of the Southcoast Center for Cancer Care, Fairhaven.
