

Cecile C. (Croteau) Oliver, age 75, of New Bedford, passed away, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of David J. Oliver to whom she had been married for the past 56 years.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Eugenie (Desorcy) Croteau, she was a lifelong area resident. She was the owner of the former Nu-to-U Consignment Shop in Fairhaven.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish where she was a member of the choir and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She was the former President of the New Bedford Lioness Club and a member of The Relay for Life team, “Heaven Can Wait.” Her best times spent were with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband, two daughters; Debra Dias and her husband Edward of Westport, Pamela S. Radzik and her husband Robert T. of New Bedford, one son Christopher D. Oliver and his wife Jennifer of Dartmouth, two sisters Yvonne Dupuis and her husband George of New Bedford, Evelyn Teixeira and her husband Armand of Mattapoisett, six grandchildren Erin, Brian, David and his fiancé Lorrin, Nicholas, Hannah and Ayden, one great grandson Brayden and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Madeleine Methia, Normand, Maurice, Eugene Croteau, Therese Perry and Jeanne McClurg.
Her visiting hours will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 from 8:30 to 10:30AM in the Rock Funeral Home 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00AM in St. Francis Xavier Church 125 Main St. Acushnet.
