Claire Stella Mailloux

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Claire Mailloux, who left us on July 20, 2025 at the age of 83. She peacefully departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love.

Claire was born on June 22, 1942, to the late Raymond and Viola Vanasse. She dedicated her life to her family and community. She was the cherished wife of the late Paul Mailloux, devoted mother to Kristine Mailloux, Thomas Mailloux and his wife Amy Mailloux, and Brian Mailloux. Claire was the proud grandmother to Evan Mailloux and devoted nieces Patricia Shaw, Sandra Vanasse Belli, and Reagan Hawk. She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Vanasse, Richard Vanasse, and Rochelle Hawk.

Claire will be remembered for her unwavering Catholic faith, gentle spirit, delicious cooking, and quiet strength. She taught us the power of kindness through her countless acts of love and touched

all with her generosity. She loved working with children in her home daycare and in the New Bedford public schools as a teacher assistant. Claire enjoyed genealogy, ceramics, and traveling. She was an inspiration to those who knew her and a pillar of support for family and friends alike.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, in her memory.

Claire's presence will live on in the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and the memories we hold dear. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered every day. Rest in peace, beloved mother. We will carry your love with us always.

Visitation to celebrate Claire's life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA 02745. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 29, 2025 at 10:00AM in Saint Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share in remembering Claire’s remarkable life
