

Daniel Mello Bizarro, age 80, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lucille (Davignon) Bizarro with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Born in New Bedford he was the son of the late John Mello Bizarro and Georgianna (Ferreira) Bizarro.
Mr. Bizarro graduated from New Bedford High School and attended Fisher Junior College. He worked as a grocery manager in local grocery stores for more than 30 years, ending his career at Seabra Market.
Daniel was a master guitar player, teaching music for Tony Pacheco and John Pandolfi and playing in local bands. His happiest times were when he was jamming with his friends. He was an avid Patriots fan and more than anything he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son James Bizarro and his wife Kellie of Taunton, his daughter Carrie Diaz and her husband Henry of Dighton, and his son Eric Bizarro and his wife Megan of Taunton, four grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Milania, Sebastian, Benjamin, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Alice Mercer, Michael, Alfred and John Bizarro.
His visitation will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. His Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 11 at 10am at St. Bernard’s Church, 32 South Main Street, Assonet. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery.
