Born in Acushnet, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Mello) Fernandes. She lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Joseph/St. Theresa Parish.
Deborah was an avid Red Sox Fan, enjoyed visiting with close friends, F.O.B., and being with and spoiling her grandchildren. She also like to travel and enjoyed cooking for her family who will always remember her dropping off thoughtful care packages for them.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Erica Thibodeau and Nicole Allaire both of Acushnet, four grandchildren, Evan, Quinn, Kiah, and Alexis; and her sister, Cheryl L’Heureux of New Bedford. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
