Dennis & Jeannette Mello

Dennis E. and Jeannette S. (Quintin ) Mello passed away June 21, 2019 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Canterbury, New Hampshire. Dennis was the son of the late Dennis Pacheco and Irene (Fortin) Mello. Jeannette was the daughter of Therese (Gelinas) Quintin and the late Roger Quintin.

Both Dennis and Jeannette were graduates of Johnson and Wales University, with degrees in Computer Systems Management. Dennis proudly served in the US Army Reserves. Dennis was retired from Providence College where he worked in IT, and Jeannette retired from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where she was an analyst. They both enjoyed motorcycles, camping, traveling and loved dogs.

Jeannette is survived by her mother Therese, one sister Claire Duff and her husband Raymond of Dartmouth, and three nephews, Jeremy Duff and his wife Rana of Swansea, Benjamin Duff of Rhode Island and Andrew Duff and his wife Alicia of Dartmouth . Dennis is survived by two sisters; Penny Lee Mello and Jane Costa both of New Bedford, two nieces Cheryl Fournier and her husband Oliveiro De Pina of New Bedford, Laurie Fournier of New Bedford and one nephew Jamie Fournier of New Bedford, Dennis was predeceased by his sister Debra Lee St. Pierre and his brother Johnny Mello.

Their Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1359 Acushnet Ave., New Bedford followed by burial in Rural Cemetery, Dartmouth St., New Bedford. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a local animal shelter.
