

Diane was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Sacred Heart School in New Bedford and New Bedford Vocational High School. She also worked as a Candy Striper at a group after school and weekends and was among the first women to continue onto college from “Voke”.
Upon graduating from St. Ann’s School of Nursing, Diane’s working history is simple. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a charge nurse for over forty years and sure to have taken care of a family member or a friend or someone else you know.
Diane was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Acushnet. Her many interests outside of nursing ranged from piano study to NASCAR as well as caring for others in need. She also volunteered as a lunch lady at St. Anthony’s Food Bank.
She is survived by her brothers, Richard E. Le Blanc and his wife Diane of Acushnet and Robert H. Le Blanc and his wife Kathleen Kearney of Westport; several nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces.
Her funeral will be Friday, September 4, 2015 at 9 am from ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 pm. Diane was struck down by Alzheimer’s Disease, so in place of flowers, the family would rather a donation no matter how small be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
