

Doris (Souza) Beaulieu, 92, formerly of New Bedford passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in the Pond Home in Wrentham. She was the wife of the late Norbert A. “Knobby” Beaulieu whom she married August 20, 1955.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John and Lena (Palmeira) Souza, Sr., she lived most of her life in the area. She was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Church, New Bedford.
Doris graduated high school and went on to attend Kinyon-Campbell Business School. She was a junior accountant for a private accountant and retired from the City of New Bedford.
Mrs. Beaulieu began tap dancing at the age of nine and she received many awards for her skills. Doris and her husband were snowbirds for many years, spending the winter in Florida. She enjoyed regular visits to Walt Disney World with the family.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane A. O’Friel of Franklin; two grandchildren, Zachary and Mark O’Friel; a brother, David E. Souza; a sister in law, Cecile Dawson. Her son in law, Brian O’Friel predeceased her in 2011. She was the sister of the late Lena Souza, Irene Spanne, and John Souza, Jr. She enjoyed the company of her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.
