

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late John and Deolinda (Lopes) Rosario, he was raised in Acushnet, lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to E. Freetown five years ago.
He was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1981, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from ITT Technical Institute.
Edmund had worked as a manager for GATRA Transportation in Taunton for 31 years.
Ed had a great love and passion for building models. He loved cats, watching wrestling and listening to music, especially his favorite band KISS. He was a master on his grill and smoker. Ed loved spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his step-sons, Michael Freitas and his wife Jacqueline and John Freitas and his fiancée Claudia; his siblings, John, Melinda, Raymond, Greg, Mario and Monica Rosario; his uncle, Joseph Lopes; his aunt, Mary Hyman; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Funeral, Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John Neumann Church, 157 Middleboro Rd., E. Freetown. Burial is private.
