Elisio Cabral Pimentel

Elisio C. Pimentel, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rosa M. (Pacheco) Pimentel, with whom he shared nearly 48 cherished years of marriage.

Born in Nordeste, São Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel C. and Rosa (Andrade) Pimentel. Elisio's life journey took him from Portugal to Brazil in 1963, and ultimately to the U.S. in 1969, where he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and love.

He was a man of quiet strength and deep devotion—most especially to his family. He took immense joy in the lives of his great-nieces and great-nephews, who brought light and laughter to his days.

A loyal Benfica fan, Elisio loved traveling to visit family in Portugal and Canada, and he found great peace in tending to his garden at home. His gentle presence and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Rosa, Elisio is survived by his loving son, Edson, as well as extended family in the U.S., Vancouver, Toronto, and Portugal.

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA 02746. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rock Funeral Home.
