Fatima M. Garcia

Fatima was born May 14, 1955 in St. Michael Azores Portugal, a daughter of the late Jose and Maria Jose (Sousa) Bernardo, she lived most of her life in New Bedford. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Fatima worked as a CNA for many years. Her faith was very important to her and spending time with her family was something she cherished. Fatima’s husband, children, and grandchildren brought her great joy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sandra Oliveira, Kevin Garcia, and Steven Garcia all of New Bedford; a brother Moses Bernardo of Canada; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Tiago Bernardo.

Visitation for Fatima will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford, MA 02745. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford, MA. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford, MA.
