George L. Reeves

George L. Reeves, 92, of New Bedford, passed away on March 26, 2026. Born on April 12, 1933, in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Anseline and Ezaura (Perry) Reeves. George will be remembered as a hard-working man who remained a lifelong resident of his hometown.

George was a talented, hard-working carpenter and roofer. Self-taught and skilled with his hands, George was also a handyman who could fix almost anything, earning the respect of those who knew and relied on him.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Augusta) Reeves; his daughter, Brenda Pacheco; and Brenda’s late husband, David. He is survived by his son, Russell Reeves and his wife Karen; his grandchildren, Matt Reeves and his wife Heidi, Jen Sunderland and her husband Josh, and Alan Pacheco and his fiance Jaime; and his great-grandchildren, Jamie, Jackson, River, Maisy and Maddox. George was also preceded in death by his siblings, Norman, Shirley, twins Carol and Carl, Mickey, and Richie.

A Graveside Service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in the near future.
