

Geraldo N. Cabral, a beloved and kind-hearted man, passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 17, 1936, in Vila Franca do Campo, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Luis and Maria Gloria (Pacheco) Cabral. Geraldo was known for his thoughtful nature and devotion to his family.
Geraldo was the husband of Maria Isabel (Pacheco) Cabral. He was a devoted father to Virginia Bergman and her husband Eric, Anna Bowers and her husband Scott, Antonio Cabral and his wife Liliane, and Marco Cabral. He cherished his five grandchildren, Brandon, Caitlin, Derek, Victoria, and Savannah, as well as his two great-grandchildren, Joey and Layla. Geraldo is also survived by his sister, Maria Joao Cabral, and several nieces and nephews.
Before retiring, Geraldo was employed as a surgical instrument repairer for Johnson and Johnson. He was a devout family man who loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Geraldo had a great sense of humor where he made everyone around him laugh. In his youth, Geraldo was a musician and an avid Benfica fan. He enjoyed gardening, playing soccer, was a pole vaulter, and had a passion for music and dancing. His love for adventure extended to kayaking, fishing, diving, and cliff diving.
Geraldo will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his thoughtful, kind-hearted nature. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA 02745. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
