Gerard T. “Gerry” Perron, 78, a new resident of Dartmouth, formerly of Acushnet for over 50 years, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at home. He was the husband of Janet R. (Leeks) Perron.
Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Thomas and Cecile (Cote) Perron. He spent his childhood years in New Hampshire until moving to the Southcoast where he spent the rest of his life with his wife and sons. Gerry was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Berlin, New Hampshire. Gerry proudly served his country admirably during the Vietnam Conflict in the United States Army. He was employed as a Supervisor of the Storage and Purchasing Department at St. Luke’s Hospital for 40 years, retiring in 2009.
Gerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he was extremely active at Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, participating in the choir, Sunday school, amongst the many other activities at the church. In his younger years, Gerry and his wife were active in the foster home community and housed foreign exchange students. He enjoyed Golf, Bowling, Playing Cards with family and traveling with the love of his life Janet. You could find Gerry with his wife at all the small business owned restaurants in the area as he and his wife loved to support the local community. He was also a very proud United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his loving wife Janet, he is survived by his children, Aaron Perron and his wife Kerry of Fairhaven and Andrew Perron and his wife Kelly of Kentucky; Five grandchildren, Abby, Ella, Adam, Maddie and Mia; his only brother Maurice Perron of Georgia; sister in-law, Joan Plaud of Rochester; many nieces and nephews and cousins; close friends and church family.

Gerry’s funeral service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00AM in the Acushnet Wesley United Methodist Church, 67 Main Street, Acushnet. Relatives and friends are invited.
