Born in Fairhaven, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Stec) Prejsnar. She was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church.
In her spare time, when not caring for her family, she enjoyed Foxwood trips, Sunday drives to the country and to see the ocean. Helen was always willing to go out to eat for lobster rolls, ice cream, fried clams, and Olive Garden. This time of the year was always special for Helen, as she looked forward to the Polish food at Easter and any time of year was fit for golumpki and kielbasa.
Most important to Helen was her loving and kind ways and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Rensberger and her husband Lance of New Bedford; a grandson, Shane Martin and his loving companion, Candace; sisters, Irene Benoit and Jennie Cabral of Fairhaven; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Gary DeMoura, David DeMoura, and Matthew Arsenault; granddaughter Traci DeMoura to whom was the daughter of Gary; sister of the late Joseph “Rusty” Prezner; and aunt and godmother of the late Russell Prezner.
Her visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 343 Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
