Helen M. Vigeant

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lydia Bastarache and she was also predeceased by her brother Frederick and Ida Bastarache, sisters Mary Alves and Eva Bastarache.

Helen worked at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven for 28 years and was a communicant of St. Joseph-St. Therese Church.

She was the devoted to her daughter Elizabeth Medeiros and her husband Ricardo of Lakeville; her three granddaughters: Debra Norwood and her husband Clayton of New Hampshire, Sandra Romero and her husband James of Rochester, MA and Jacquelin Crosson and her husband James of Portsmouth, RI; a grandson Ricardo Medeiros Jr. and his wife Lisa of Lakeville, MA; 9 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5 to 8pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday June 30, 2016 at 10AM in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
