Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Charles E. Scott and Emily (Domingues) Ross, he was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and was a graduate of New Bedford High School. He served honorably in the US Marine Corp. He was employed by Titleist's Golf division for 39 years retiring in 2004.
He loved spending time with his immediate family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to dinner at Riccardis, family cookouts, walking and going to the casinos with his wife Joann. He enjoyed Golf, bowling, and softball.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Scott of New Bedford, Linda Souza and her husband Roger of Acushnet, and Craig Scott of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Alissa and Katelyn Souza and Niya Scott; his siblings, Miriam Machado of Dartmouth and Barbara Vincent of New Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Lisa M. Scott, stepson of the late Arnold Ross and brother of the late Lillian Gajewski and John Scott.
