

Irene F. Nogueira, a lifelong resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on July 29, 1942, in New Bedford, Irene was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Czeslava "Alice" (Taradejna) Gadomski.
Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, who always put the needs of others before her own. Her personal life was filled with love and her family was the most important part of her life. She treasured spending time with them more than anything else.
Irene was a dedicated employee who managed payroll services for various organizations over her years of employment. She began her career working at Alden Corrugated Container Company in New Bedford, MA before moving on and spending decades at AFC Cable Company, also located in New Bedford. She enjoyed a brief time in sales working for Sylvia’s Bridal Boutique in Mattapoisett, MA where she assisted young brides with finding their “dream” wedding dresses. She took great pride continuing her career with distinction working at St. Vincent's Services in Fall River, MA for over 27 years where she developed cherished friendships and relationships with the children and her fellow colleagues.
Irene is survived by her husband Robert Nogueira. They were married for 59 years, celebrating their anniversary each May. She is also survived by her sons, Mark D. Nogueira and his wife Maria, and Kevin C. Nogueira and his wife Kim, her grandchildren, Jenna E. Nogueira and Ethan J. Nogueira, her sister Barbara J. Machado and her late husband Joseph A. Machado, and her sister-in-law Marion Gadomski. She was predeceased by her brother Frank Gadomski Jr. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who’ll cherish her memory.
Irene enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the cottage on Long Pond in Lakeville, MA during summers past. She was an avid bowler who also enjoyed working outdoors in the yard with summer weekends spent lounging by the pool.
Irene F. Nogueira will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her vibrant interests, and her warm presence in the lives of all who knew her.
