“JR” spent 50 years in the radio industry and was a legendary local Radio Personality and Program Director for Fun 107 in Fairhaven for almost 20 years. He spent the early part of his career on WTLB-AM when the station was one of the big Top-40 stations in Utica. He later helped launch Rock 107 at 107.3-FM in Washington Mills in the early 1980’s when he served as Program Director and Afternoon Drive host on the FM TOP-40 station. In 2013, J.R. retired as Program Director and Morning Show Host on Fun 107 and later returned to New Bedford earlier in 2018 as an afternoon anchor on WBSM. He had just started hosting a new morning show on WPLM in Plymouth before his passing. His voice will be missed by many.
