Jamie M. Allison

She bravely fought and overcame addiction, only to face a battle with stage 4 aggressive lung, brain, and lymph node cancer.

Residing in Rochester, Jamie led a life marked by resilience, compassion, and dedication to helping others.

Jamie grew up in Fairhaven and graduated from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1999.

Jamie's journey was one of perseverance. After struggling with addiction and experiencing homelessness in Boston, she returned home and worked tirelessly to overcome her challenges. At one point, she held four jobs, including serving as a house mother at Dawn's New Day recovery house for women. Grateful for the support she received, Jamie pursued further education, earning a recovery coach certificate to assist others grappling with addiction.

Jamie was the biological mother of five cherished children: Kobi A. Medeiros of Rochester, Hannah R. Allison of Dartmouth, Ayden R. Allison of New Bedford, Jayden N. Pisz of Fall River and Mason. She shared three joyful years with the love of her life, Helder Arruda, and looked forward to many more.

In addition to her children, Jamie is survived by her mother, Jacqueline Charron and her stepfather Elan (Scott) Charron of Rochester, her brother Ryan A. Moniz and sister-in-law Jenna Bowers of Rochester, and her stepsister Brandi Charron of Fall River. She was predeceased by her father, Richard A. Moniz, who was lost at sea in 1987. Jamie also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends, all of whom she loved dearly and would fiercely protect.

A visitation will be held at Rock Funeral Home, located at 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 10:00 am, followed by a burial at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.

Jamie will always be remembered for her heart of gold, her willingness to help anyone in need, and the countless friendships she forged throughout her life. She leaves a lasting legacy of love and kindness.
