Jeanne Meredith

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Aubut) Blanchard, she lived in Acushnet most of her life.

Jeanne was a graduate of New Bedford High School and worked at Union Hospital, Nichols Nursing Home, and Fuller Food Service until her retirement. She and her late husband lived in Okeechobee, FL for about ten years before returning to the area. She enjoyed cooking for her family and knitting.

Survivors include her 7 children, Thomas Meredith and his wife Gail of Tygnsboro, MA; Leonard Meredith and his wife Pamela of Alabama; Georgette Carballo of Florida; Joyce Jeffrey and her husband Robert of Fairhaven; Michael Meredith and his wife Rachelle of Lynn, MA; Janine Meredith of Florida; Paula Ciccone and her husband Frank of Chelmsford, MA; a brother, Lionel “Red” Blanchard and his wife Sherry of Falmouth, MA; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30am at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm. Burial to follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen Street, 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
