Jeannette Nunes

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Julien and Ernestine (Masse) Deshaies, she had resided in New Bedford before moving to Acushnet 30 years ago.Mrs. Nunes had worked at Knapp Shoes for many years until her retirement.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Joanne Nunes, Gloria Costa and husband Gregory, and Lorraine Watson; a brother, Roger Deshaies and wife Terry; 5 grandchildren, Renee Jean Shorrock and significant other Daniel Deneault, Tiffany McShane and husband Sean, Sharie Miles and significant other Bruce Nicely III, Cassandra Watson and significant other Jared Medeiros, and Tyler Costa and his significant other Brooklynn Seifert; 3 great‐grandsons, Austin and Scott Shorrock and significant other Riley Piva, and Isaac McShane; long time Best friend Ida DeRossi; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Laurette, Armand and Leo Deshaies, Florence Mesquita, Doris Patnaude and Lucille Tremblay.

Jeannette enjoyed puzzles, bowling, playing wii, cheating at cards, going to school with her friends at Dartmouth Social Day playing Bingo and doing crafts. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandsons. She longed to be reunited with her beloved husband Joe, now she rests in peace and whole hearted once more.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 8:30AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9:30AM in St. Mary’s Church, Tarkiln Hill Rd., New Bedford.
